Schema Therapy uses a combination of multiple therapeutic approaches to achieve results. It works on the theory that our distress and how we feel about ourselves and the world around us is caused by belief systems that have formed in childhood (Schemas). These schemas influence how we think, feel and behave.

Schemas often get in the way of us being happy, they can negatively impact relationships and cause great amounts of emotional distress.

Schema Therapy identifies which maladapted schemas you have and works systematically using multiple interventions to reduce the impact of the schemas, so an individual can feel less triggered by events in life.

Schema Therapy was originally designed to treat “Border-Line Personality Disorder” effectively, but, it’s also now commonly used to treat other symptoms such and Anxiety Disorders, Depression and non-specified manifestations of distress and ill health.
